Very nice reference snapshot to see what you have for hardware, software and security updates via Microsoft.
My only problem with Belarc is its 'Security Benchmark Score'. If you go by all what they recommend to beef up your PC's security it would end up being practically useless, IMO. If it's a PC at the FBI or something, then I can see the security concerns. For home users, Belarc is out of their minds.
My 'Security Benchmark Score'?: 1.33 of 10. With a score that low I should end up being hit with viruses, trojans, malware, spyware and any other breach left and right, or so one would think, but I'm not getting any of that and never have. Belarc really needs to change how they look at security for the typical home user.

Does what it says it will, nothing more. I'm not sure where people like Jcookies are getting it advises you to change anything..it merely maps your system. Makes me think they never actually used the program.

Never had issues with it. There are alternatives but Belarc is fine.

I do not know where he gets his info as this software does not tell you anything about changing settings. It is just a great piece of software to have. A must really. Gives you all your sys info, licences, as well as all your software. There is nowhere a setting that tells you to change anything.

Great program, contrary to what jcooks said, it makes no changes to your system. Dont listen to reviewers like him. jcooks is the same guy that said 'Internet TV has never worked decently, and will never work either.', along with many other wasted useless comments. I am watching internet TV right now by the way, I watch hulu and many other offerings. I also subscribe to netflix and their instant viewing programs work VERY decently. Apparently this guy must have dialup or something. Go somewhere else dude.

It found a 'sneaky' missing Microsoft update (MS09-035 - KB973544) which Microsoft Update site did not mention. An exceptional tool shoould it be for its sole capacity to analyze present and absent MS security update. It happens to perform much more, really brilliant.

Belarc Advisor Scam
A friend wanted to buy some extra memory for his computer but did not what kind of memory it used and where the computer was located (large desk against the wall with the computer inside a compartment that was just big enough) would of been a pain to open and examine so I used Belarc Advisor to try and discover. It showed me that the computer only had 512mb which I already knew but that was it :( I had to use SIW to find out if pc2700 sdram 166mhz.
So I would like to see some improvement on that area. And I recommended my friend buys a new computer lol
Great program though
