Note: If user is tunneling in for the first time, they will need to install the F5 Plugin during setup which requires local admin rights.

The F5 Access app from F5 Networks secures and accelerates macOS device access to enterprise networks and applications using SSL VPN and optimization technologies. F5 Access for macOS provides Layer 3 network access for the BIG-IP APM module. The F5 Access for macOS application is not a replacement for existing Edge Client. If you select yes, APM updates the BIG-IP Edge Client software automatically on the Mac client when newer versions are available. From the left pane, select Server List. A table displays in the right pane. Specify the servers that you want defined in the client downloads.

Logging into VPN

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to the appropriate VPN Portal:
    1. Hospital Employees: https://msvpn.mountsinai.org
    2. School Employees: https://msvpn.mssm.edu
    3. Vendors: https://msvpn-vendor.mountsinai.org
  2. Login using the following
      1. Enter your AD username
      2. Enter your Password
      3. Click on “Continue”
      4. Enter your VIP Security Code (the Code changes every 30 seconds)
      5. Click on “Login”

  3. Once logged in, the VPN Webtop App launcher page will be displayed. Click on the icon titled “Tunnel
    ”
    Chrome Users:
    1. You will be prompted to install F5 Endpoint Inspection Client; Click Download
    2. Click on F5 Download and install (mac_f5vpn.pkg)
    3. Once it is installed click on, “Click here” when the Installation completes
    4. You will get a popup asking to Open F5 Network Endpoint Inspector – Click on “Always open these types of link in the associated app”
    5. Click on “Open F5 Network Endpoint Inspector”
    6. F5 VPN Security Warning will popup, click on “Always allow your VPN connection from this site”

    Safari Users:

      1. Click on Start to give the Safari Browser permission to start the VPN process
      2. You will be prompted to install F5 Endpoint Inspection Client – Click “Download”
      3. Click on F5 Download and install (mac_f5vpn.pkg)
      4. Once it is installed click on, “Click here” when the Installation completes
      5. A new popup will appear, “Do you want to allow this page to open “F5 VPN”, Click on “allow”
      6. F5 VPN Security Warning will popup – click on “Always allow your VPN connection from this site”

  • Another popup will come up – wait until the “Connected” is displayed and then minimize the popup.
    1. Note if you close out of the popup you will disconnect your self from the Tunnel Session.
